Product Description

Love Wolf by Lisa Del Toro takes a cartoon wolf meltdown and frames it like a piece of lovesick flash. The whole image runs on collision: romance, mischief, and slapstick pushed together until they start to snarl.

At the center, a wide-mouthed wolf head bursts forward through a large heart patterned with smaller hearts. Heart-shaped eyes, exposed fangs, a long red tongue, and a white-gloved paw push the face into full exaggeration. A black top hat sits above the ears, and four small devil cupids with bows occupy the corners, turning the border into its own little swarm of trouble. Behind all of it is a pale field of loose flash drawings, hearts, webs, flowers, and other scattered marks that keep the piece moving.

Del Toro handles it with the clear outlines and direct color you want from tattoo-inspired work. Black carries the structure. Red does most of the talking. The pink ground softens the image just enough before the teeth and horns cut back in. It has the punch of old cartoon graphics, but the framing and compression feel closer to flash.

What makes Love Wolf land is its sense of imbalance. It is cute for about half a second, then not really. That shift gives the print its bite.
