Featured Artist of the Month: Chris Dyer - Exclusive Mindzai Interview
Chris Dyer is a Peruvian-Canadian artist with a deep passion for art, creativity, and life. Chris creates out-of-this-world, psychedelic art on his quest for the deepest answers of consciousness, oneness, and truth. Sav, our social media manager, sat down with Chris and asked him a few questions about his artistic journey.
Sav: What inspired you to become an artist?
Chris: I didn't decide, I just am. My personality has always been a reason why I want to be an artist. I have always been drawing since I was 3 years old. I love what I do.
Sav: What motivates you to create as an artist?
Chris: Once again it's not that I need a kick in the ass or a motive... It’s just what I do. Where can I channel this creative energy? I want to serve others and give good energy, open a portal through my images and creations. Money is not at all the motivation, I am a creative machine.
Sav: Have you experienced writer's block?
Chris: No I don't really experience that, my cup is overflowing with ideas. I have so many ideas. From books, museums, and brand ideas. I actually feel like I don’t have enough time to do all these ideas.
Sav: What's your background?
Chris: Raised in Peru and Lima till age 17 then moved to Montreal, Quebec for 21 years then I moved to Denver in 2021, lived there for a year, and didn't like it... now I'm in St. Petersburg Florida.
Sav: What does your art reflect?
Chris: It is a reflection of my inside process, my art is a filter/vibe of Chris the avatar that is inside me. As I grow spiritually and learn to drop bullshit and negativity then my art will start to reflect it as well. I want my art to be reflected to the most high.
Sav: What is your dream project?
Chris: My long-term dream is to create a museum of art. Art is like a medicine... I want to create a “hospital” for people's minds to go to... You walk into this place and you leave feeling better, safe, and healthy. I want people to dip into my energy. I want my art to heal. I want to help people!
Chris has been traveling all over the states painting murals and hosting retreats and workshops.
